BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – You can call it riding in first-class for space travelers.

Space Perspective, the company that plans to offer balloon rides to space from the Kennedy Space Center, shared a new look inside its Spaceship Neptune’s Space Lounge. The tethered capsule will lift nine people - including a pilot - on a slow 6-hour flight into Earth’s atmosphere, up to 100,000 feet before a descent and splashdown into the Gulf of Mexico.

Over the course of those six hours, passengers will experience an array of luxuries from ergonomic, safety-rated seats to a restroom called a Space Spa. For dining, vibrant living plants and an innovative cocktail and culinary program will be heavily inspired by Earth.

Every element of the cabin delivers safety, comfort, and accessibility, and more than 100 layouts were explored before finalizing the overall dimensions to maximize the space and flow.

The company says the balloon is based on proven NASA technology, and is propelled by hydrogen, making it a carbon-neutral space flight. Once in commercial operations, Spaceship Neptune will set the record for the most people taken to the edge of space – one more than the NASA Space Shuttle mission STS-61-A.

In August, Space Perspective cut the ribbon on a new facility near Kennedy Space Center. Each ticket costs $125,000 and the first commercial flight is planned for 2025.
