Deputies said Joshua E. Colon Cirino, 26, of Deltona, was operating a 2007 Yamaha sport bike and a woman, who has not been identified by authorities, was his passenger.

According to sheriff’s officials, the motorcycle was traveling over 80 mph when the driver of a Mazda SUV made a left turn onto Sullivan Street. The motorcycle struck the right front fender of the SUV, ejecting both bikers, deputies said.

Witnesses attempted lifesaving measures, but the man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene by Deltona Fire Rescue, officials said.

Two occupants of the SUV were taken to a hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries, deputies said.

An investigation is ongoing.
