SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lifted off at 1:36am Thursday

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – SpaceX launched another batch of Starlink internet satellites from Florida’s Space Coast early Thursday.

The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off at 1:36 a.m. from Space Launch Complex 40 at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The original launch time was 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, but the company pushed that back multiple times as it watched weather near the launch pad.

This week’s launch will mark the eighth for the first-stage booster used in this mission, which was previously used to launch CRS-26, OneWeb Launch 16, Intelsat IS-40e, and four other Starlink missions.

Following stage separation, the booster landed on the Just Read The Instructions droneship in the Atlantic Ocean.

This is the 70th mission of 2023 for SpaceX and the 53rd launch of the year from Brevard County.
