OCALA, Fla. – Marion County Public Schools will hold its final vote on which textbooks students will use.
State law allows districts to choose their own books instead of using state-approved books, but they must follow certain rules.
The textbooks would be used in 17 categories at every grade level. Subjects include language arts, science, history, economics and government.
A committee involving 15 voting members and one non-voting chair is scheduled to take a final vote around 5 p.m. Monday.
The panel's recommendation will then go to the school board, which will make a final decision.
