Hurricane Matthew leaves OneBlood in critical need for donors

All OneBlood locations resumed normal business hours

ORLANDO, Fla. – With Hurricane Matthew's path showing potential threats to Central Florida is in critical need for blood collections.

OneBlood said they have an urgent need for platelets, plasma, O negative and O positive blood.

All OneBlood locations have returned to normal business hours in Central Florida after being shut down for several days due to Hurricane Matthew.

Donors are used to visit a donor center or a Big Red Bus blood drive as soon as possible to help replenish blood supply.

"It is profoundly impacting someone because you have to understand, patients in the hospitals continue to need blood transfusions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week," One Blood spokesman Pat Michaels said.
