MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A 13-foot alligator was found Saturday in a designated swimming zone at Silver Glen Springs Recreation Area, the Marion County Sheriff's Office said.
The Silver Glen Springs Recreation Area is at 5271 North Highway 19 in Fort McCoy.
A deputy called a few trappers for backup, the Sheriff's Office said. Together, they brought the alligator ashore.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission-contracted trappers took the gator into their custody, the Sheriff's Office said.
The swimming area was reopened to the public.
