77-year-old man dies in Orange County crash, troopers say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that left one man dead Friday night, troopers said.

Troopers said the driver of a SUV, 77, of Ocoee, was driving north on Apopka Vineland Road as the driver of another vehicle was driving south on Apopka Vineland Road.

Both vehicles were approaching the intersection of A D Mims Road when the man driving the SUV turned left and drove directly into the other vehicle's path, troopers said. 

The front of the second vehicle struck the right side of the SUV, the Highway Patrol said. The driver of the SUV was transported to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead, troopers said.
