ORLANDO, Fla. – As part of a push to find more foster homes for children in need, Community Based Care of Central Florida and Florida Hospital are hosting an informational session on the fostering process.
The session will be held Saturday from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m.Saturday at Florida Hospital Church Worship Center at 2800 N. Orange Ave. in Orlando.
“In order to have one loving foster family per child, Central Florida needs 100 more families to open their hearts and homes,” said Gerry Glynn, chief legal officer for Community Based Care of Central Florida. “With more than 16,000 employees, Florida Hospital is a significant partner in helping us address this shortfall for our region’s vulnerable kids.”
The initiative and the partnership is part of Foster Care Awareness Month, which runs through May.
“Florida Hospital for Children is honored to once again join hands with a great community partner to make a difference for so many children in our community,” said Marla Silliman, Florida Hospital for Children senior executive officer. “We’re excited to build upon last year’s successful efforts and continue to grow the network of loving foster homes across our region.”
