DELTONA, Fla. – A 61-year-old man was killed early Thursday in Deltona when he walked into the path of an oncoming car and was struck, deputies said.
The fatal crash happened around 12:40 a.m. on Howland Boulevard at Elkcam Boulevard.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said a 2006 Saturn was traveling northbound on Howland Boulevard when the collision occurred.
Bobby Groover was taken by ambulance to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, where he was later pronounced dead.
Neither occupant of the vehicle was injured.
