Disney modifies 'Star Wars' fireworks show to avoid brush fires

Campfires banned at Disney resorts

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – Bone-dry weather continues to cause problems in Florida as hundreds of active brush fires burn across the state.

Disney World says it is taking steps to make sure it's not part of the problem.

Firefighters with Disney's government arm, Reedy Creek, told the Orlando Sentinel that the new "Star Wars" fireworks show at Hollywood Studios has caused some brush fires.

The problem stemmed from the location where the fireworks were being launched. Disney told News 6 that it has since modified the show to try and stop future problems.

Disney has also banned campfires at its resorts because of the dry conditions.
