BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – Some parents in Brevard County are upset after deputies say two men stole nearly $300 from a basketball game at Edgewood Junior Senior High School.
"This is one of the premiere schools in Brevard County, Edgewood Junior Senior High School, definitely an event people should be able to come and enjoy and things like this shouldn't happen," said Cpl. Dave Jacobs with the Brevard County Sheriff's Department.
Investigators say around 6 p.m. the two guys bought tickets to the game and sat down. At some point the two left and came back. They told the clerk they wanted a refund because they were at the wrong game but then deputies say they took the refund and stole the rest of the money out of the cash box.
"Not a lot of conversation occurred, there was no weapon displayed or mentioned or anything like that. he just took the money and ran, " Jacobs said.
"I hate to have to start seeing armed police officers, deputy sheriffs at all our games but it seems like it's kind of getting to that point these days," said parent Ed Shinski, who attended the game.
The clerk was able to give investigators a good description of the car the crooks took of in.
"The clerk did everything she was suppose to do, she was a good witness and was able to help investigators with a good description," Jacobs said.
Deputies are looking for two robbers, they believe they don't go to the school or even live in the area. They would be facing robbery charges.
