ORLANDO, Fla. – With just days to go before the start of his trial, the former security guard charged in connection with the slaying of a woman at a downtown Orlando apartment complex has been dealt a setback in court.
A judge on Thursday denied two motions submitted by Stephen Duxbury's lawyer.

One motion would have thrown out evidence showing Duxbury's shoes, which investigators say match bloody footprints found at the crime scene.
Duxbury is accused of attacking and then strangling Sasha Samsudean at the Uptown Place Apartments in 2015.
Jury selection in the trial is expected to begin on Monday.
