Deputies respond to altercation along S Goldenrod Road

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after two 16-year-old girls were stabbed late Friday in Orange County, one of whom has since died, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies responded around 11 p.m. to a physical altercation near an Amscot in the 700 block of South Goldenrod Road, locating the two girls upon their arrival, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Both of the girls were hospitalized in critical condition and one of them later died from her injuries, the statement reads. The girl who died was identified in an update Saturday afternoon as Kennedy Williams, according to the sheriff’s office.

In the update, the sheriff’s office said Anthony Rushing, 15, was arrested as the sole suspect in the fatal stabbing. Rushing faces a charge of second-degree murder in Williams’ death.

The sheriff’s office said it’s still investigating.

A GoFundMe has been established to help support Williams’ family.
