Man carjacks vehicle, crashes into tree, Orange County deputies say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A man is in custody after he is accused of a carjacking before fleeing and crashing into a tree on Tuesday, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said they responded to the area of Edgewater Drive and North John Young Parkway regarding a man attempting to carjack multiple vehicles.

According to the sheriff’s office, the man fled in one of the vehicles before crashing into a tree near Adanson Street and Baltimore Drive.

Deputies said the man was apprehended and taken to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. Officials did not say what charges the man could face when released from the hospital.

According to the sheriff’s office, there are no outstanding suspects and they are not aware of injuries to any potential victims related to the incident.
