MAITLAND, Fla. – A body matching the description of a teenager with autism who disappeared on Saturday has been found.
Around 7 p.m. Sunday, the body was found in Lake Eulalia about 20 feet offshore in eight feet of water by someone who was helping aid in the search, according to Robert Sargent with the City of Maitland.
The lake is a short distance from the family’s home.
According to Sargent, the body matched the appearance and last known clothing of Na’Sean Kirkland, who was last seen Saturday afternoon around 1:30 p.m. with his brother, who also has autism.
Maitland police said the boy’s brother has since been reunited with their parents, but was unable to provide details about Na’Sean’s whereabouts due to difficulty communicating.
The Orange County Medical Examiner will confirm the identification of the body as well as determine an official cause of death.
At this stage, Sargent says there are no signs of foul play.
