ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol has expanded its search in a deadly hit-and-run crash and is looking for four vehicles possibly connected to the death of a pedestrian, troopers said.

The crash happened around 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of John Young Parkway and Oak Ridge Road.

Northbound John Young Parkway remains shut down as troopers investigate. Drivers are urged to avoid the area.

Investigators are searching for a dark gray, possibly 2024-2025 Kia K5; a white Honda Civic; a dark gray Kia Soul; and a semi tractor-trailer in connection with the crash, which happened around 4:19 a.m. near Oak Ridge Road.

A photo previously shared by investigators shows the white vehicle — now identified as a vehicle of interest — in the area at the time of the crash.

According to an FHP report, a sedan was traveling northbound on John Young Parkway, south of Oak Ridge Road, in the center lane when it struck a male pedestrian who was walking midblock — outside of a marked crosswalk — in the direct path of the vehicle. The driver then fled the scene

The victim, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

The primary suspect vehicle remains a 2024-2025 dark gray Kia K5. The suspect driver is described as a dark-skinned adult male.

Investigators say the vehicle should have significant front bumper damage and damage to the undercarriage.
