The wreck happened at Americana Boulevard and San Antonio Avenue in Orlando, west of State Road 441 near Texas Avenue.

The FHP said Guimort Duarte, 23, of Orlando, rear-ended the bus, which was carrying 40 passengers and was stopped at a bus stop.

Duarte said the sun was in his eyes and he did not see the bus, according to troopers.

Duarte and the driver of the bus were not injured, but 16 bus passengers were taken to three hospitals with minor injuries.

Duarte was ticketed for careless driving.

Orange County Fire Rescue tweeted that Duarte's car caught fire, which was extinguished.
