Authorities said Domnitz went to the store's housewares department, picked up a Kitchen Aid Mixer and walked to the main exit, which opens into the mall, without making any attempt to pay for the merchandise.
Store asset protection officers confronted Domnitz and placed him in handcuffs. Police said that when the store asset protection officers handcuffed Domnitz a struggle ensued and the contents of his pockets landed on the floor, which consisted of a small amount of change, debit cards, credit card, LG smartphone, key fob for a Mercedes, and a key fob marked "DKS."
Police located the Mercedes in the store parking garage with a tag not assigned to it, but assigned to a silver 4-door Nissan registered to Domnitz. Inside the car police discovered the five other kitchen items from Macy's, all of which were not paid for.
Domnitz's car was seized and he was placed under arrest.
