ORLANDO, Fla. – An Orlando man faces a list of charges after he opened fire Wednesday night in a residential Orlando neighborhood after a fight with his brother-in-law, according to the Orlando Police Department.
The victim told authorities that he and his wife went to her sister's house on King Cole Boulevard to pick up the woman's two children, ages 3 and 4, because she was arguing with her boyfriend, Theo Lewis. Police said Lewis told the victim he would "get killed coming around here” while he yelled and cursed.

The victim spotted a gun in Lewis' waistband, so he went to his car and got his wife's Smith and Wesson Bodyguard .380 and put it in his pocket. Lewis, who had a gun in each hand, pointed one of the guns at the victim's head, according to an arrest affidavit.
Fearing for her husband's life, the victim's wife begged Lewis to put the guns down.
Police said Lewis fired the gun so it didn't hit the victim. The victim told Lewis to put the guns down and fight him, but when Lewis wouldn't disarm himself, the victim got into the passenger's side of the vehicle with his wife and the two children and tried to drive away, authorities said.
Lewis shot at the vehicle while they were driving away, according to police. The man got out of the vehicle as it was moving and fired his gun in Lewis' direction in an attempt to defend himself and his family from Lewis, the report said.
The man's wife stopped the car on the sidewalk while the men exchanged gunfire and lay over the top of the children to protect them. The victim said he got back in the car when he heard a shot and felt a bullet whizzing past him.
Police said Lewis fled on foot after firing the shots.
One of the bullets went through the front door of a home in the neighborhood and lodged in a couch in the living room. The homeowner was home at the time of the shooting, police said.
Another homeowner in the neighborhood told police she witnessed the beginning of the confrontation between the two men and had to take cover with her son.
When police arrived, an officer had to chase Lewis to arrest him. The officer had swelling on his left eye after the struggle, the affidavit said.
Lewis continued to be combative in the patrol car, screaming and banging his head on the cage in the vehicle until his nose started to bleed, police said. He was taken to Florida Hospital to be treated, but because he was uncooperative with the staff, he had to be sedated.
Lewis is charged with attempted homicide, four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm domestic violence, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, shooting into an occupied dwelling, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number, two counts of child abuse, tampering with physical evidence, resisting an officer without violence and criminal mischief.
