Man found dead in shed fire at Orlando home

Cause of blaze under investigation

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man was found dead in a shed-like workshop early Wednesday after a fire broke out at an Orange County home, according to officials.

The fire was reported around 2 a.m. at a shed about 30 feet behind a home on Formby Avenue near Gatlin Avenue in Orlando.

The name of the man, who officials said was in his 50s or 60s, has not been released.

A witness called 911 to report the fire.

"I saw smoke and we smelled it, and when ... I turned around to head back, I saw the smoke was more dense," said Irvin Jrez.

Firefighters found the workshop engulfed in flames before discovering the man's body inside.

Two adults and their two adult children live at the home, according to neighbors.

A space heater was found inside the shed, but the cause of the blaze is not known.

The state fire marshal said the fire appears to be accidental.
