Ocoee PD officer charged after grand jury indictment

Carlos Anglero, 34, on administrative leave without pay

A grand jury has indicted an Ocoee police officer for shooting into an occupied residence in February, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said Friday.

The officer, Carlos Anglero, 34, is charged in an incident that happened on Feb. 6.

“The city of Ocoee Police Department has been made aware of the State Attorney’s Office indictment of Carlos Anglero,” Ocoee police Chief Charles J. Brown said. "As chief of police for the City of Ocoee, I hold my officers to the highest ethical standards. Based on the indictment, Anglero has been placed on administrative leave without pay until the criminal charges and the internal complaint have been resolved," he continued.

The FDLE says Anglero turned himself into the Orange County jail on Thursday evening.
