Officer William Anderson in ICU after surgery complications

OPD officer who was rundown, not back in ICU

ORLANDO, Fla. – An Orlando police officer run down during a traffic stop is back in the intensive care unit.

Officer William Anderson was badly injured when a car hit him and drove off during a traffic stop last July.

Anderson recently underwent spinal cord surgery, and police tweeted that doctors believe he has pneumonia.

"He's shown some improvement in the last 24 hours," Orlando police tweeted Monday morning.

The suspected driver, Edward Kelty, is facing an attempted second-degree murder charge.

Kelty appeared in court last week for a hearing, and a judge pushed his trial date back again.
