CLERMONT, Fla. – After eight months of recovery, a Clermont police officer is back to keeping his community safe.
Officer Kris Kruse, 21, was burned on more than 65 percent of his body in February during a bonfire accident. His recovery was a long process, but Kruse was able to return to the police force on Monday.
Kruse’s father, Jack Kruse, was also injured in a separate incident this year and returned to work the same day as his son, according to Clermont officials.
“Many prayers were answered” with Kris’s return Clermont public information Officer Dois Bloodsworth told News 6.
Kruse is still undergoing rehabilitation and will be doing administrative work until he fully recovers, Bloodsworth said.
