Body of missing boater found, Orange County deputies say

Marvin Sweers went missing Friday evening

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County deputies say the body of a missing boater was found after 3:30 p.m. in Lake Conway.

Deputies responded to the Randolph Boat Ramp near Hoffner Avenue and Randolph Avenue at 7 a.m. in reference to a missing person, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies said the victim's wife called and said her husband went fishing after work Friday evening. She told deputies she had last heard from him around 7 p.m. Friday.

The boat was found in the water near 5874 Cove Drive by a Belle Isle unit at 7:20 a.m. Saturday with no one inside the boat.

The boat belonged to Marvin Sweers and his boat was found in an area where he likes to fish. It was confirmed Sweers was found Saturday at 3:36 p.m., deputies said.

Marine units with the Orange County Fire Rescue and with Chase units also responded and assisted in the search.
