OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A North Carolina woman was killed Monday morning when a vehicle hit hers head-on in Osceola County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Jose Santana, 39, was driving his 2013 BMW on U.S. 192 and Griffin Road around 11 a.m. when he traveled from the westbound lane into the eastbound lane and hit a 2016 Mazda head-on, troopers said.
Lena Simpson, 45, of Charlotte, North Carolina, was driving the Mazda. She was killed in the crash, the report said.
One passenger in the BMW and two passengers in the Mazda were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts. The crash is not suspected to be alcohol-related, troopers said.
