🛝Playground Protection: Beating the heat and staying safe🛝

Hey there Insiders! It’s meteorologist Michelle Morgan, your friendly neighborhood meteorologist. I’m excited about what’s going on in our community! There are so many new things to try, fun events and new playgrounds to explore with my little one.

It’s great to see our community growing and offering more opportunities for families like mine to enjoy together.

Now that it’s starting to get hot outside, more pool and beach days are on the agenda but also, more playground time.

Playgrounds can get super hot, over 100 degrees on an 80-degree day and more than 120 on 90-degree days. That’s not safe for our little ones.

As a mom, I’m always checking playground equipment before my kid plays. Want more tips for playground safety? Click here!

I’m always looking for new playgrounds around town. Great news! A new playground recently opened and is located in West Orange County ready for little ones to explore.

đŸŒ”Back In Drought Status☀

This may come as a surprise, but it’s been dry lately. What’s up, guys? Meteorologist Jonathan Kegges with you. That was a joke by the way. We’ve been so dry of late that part of Central Florida is back in drought status.

We have also seen brushfires ignite over the past week or so along the Space Coast. We are moving through the peak of wildfire season in Florida so it is extremely important to be careful what you are doing with fire.

We will have a more in-depth look at the expanding drought conditions and a first look at the hopeful crewed Starliner launch Monday on Friday’s edition of Weather Wise on News 6+.
