FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A single-vehicle crash late Saturday on Interstate 95 in Flagler County killed a pickup truck’s passenger and left its driver with critical injuries, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to an FHP crash report, a pickup truck being driven northbound in the inside lane by a 47-year-old Hastings man slid sideways as the man changed to the center lane. The truck redirected left and crashed into a guardrail, causing the vehicle to become airborne before it began to roll over into the median, the report states.

The man was hospitalized for treatment of critical injuries, troopers said. His passenger — a 46-year-old woman, also of Hastings — was pronounced dead at the scene, according to FHP.

Troopers believe the woman was wearing a seat belt while the man was not.
