OCALA, Fla. – The middle and outside southbound lanes of Interstate 75 were shut down Wednesday in Ocala to make room for emergency asphalt repairs, according to the Florida Department of Transportation.

The lanes were closed in the area of mile marker 349, just south of State Road 200, FDOT said in a news release.

Drivers were told to expect delays and were advised to consider an alternate route.

The Department is implementing our rapid repair plan. Once the repair is made, the Department will continue to monitor the roadway. It is unknown when the lanes will be reopened.

This incident occurred within the limits of an ongoing FDOT resurfacing project along I-75 from the Sumter County line to S.R. 200.
