Troopers said Michael Bridges, 61, of Orlando, was critically injured in the crash, which was reported around 9 a.m. on SR 429 in Apopka.
Officials said the truck, which was hauling yard waste, was northbound when one of its tires separated. Bridges lost control of the truck, which traveled through the grass median, clipped a Honda and overturned and caught fire, according to the FHP.
A good Samaritan ran across the road and pulled Bridges from the burning truck, the FHP said.
Bridges was airlifted to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition, troopers said.
The driver of the Honda was not hurt.
One lane of SR 429 was blocked in the area.
