KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A driver ran over and killed a pedestrian who was lying in the middle of an Osceola County roadway, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The fatal accident was reported around 1:15 a.m. Friday on East Osceola Parkway near Plumwood Circle in Kissimmee.

The FHP said a 62-year-old man driving a Dodge van struck a man who was lying in the center lane of Osceola Parkway.

The pedestrian, whose name and age have not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

The driver and his passenger, a 29-year-old man, both of Kissimmee, were not injured in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Eastbound lanes of Osceola Parkway were blocked in the area.

No other details have been released.
