"Faculty will adjust due dates as needed for both online and on-campus classes," the school said.

For updates, students can call the recorded message line at 386-506-HELP. In the event of emergencies, contact DSC’s Campus Safety Office at 386-506-4444.

Meanwhile, the Melbourne campus of Keiser University will remain closed for students, staff and faculty on Monday.

"Normal operations and class schedules are expected to resume on Tuesday," the school said.

Students, faculty and staff should call the emergency hotline at 877-353-4737 for further updates.

Stetson University said the reopening of its DeLand campus is dependent on the city and Duke Energy’s ability to restore power.

"At this point, the majority of the campus is still without power, and there isn’t yet a date or time for it to be fully restored," Stetson officials said. "The campus is still cleaning up debris and trees. An initial assessment of facilities indicate the majority of the buildings are intact, but there is minor damage in some areas."

Although the university is not able to set a specific date for residence halls and classes to reopen, at this time there are no plans to make a change to the previously scheduled fall break dates of Thursday, Oct. 13 and Friday, Oct. 14.

The university asks students, faculty and staff to remain away from the campus at this time. Essential staff that are required to be on campus have been notified.

"If you have not heard from your supervisor, please remain away from campus," Stetson said.

Florida Institute of Technology will return to normal operations and resume its regular calendar on Tuesday, following Monday’s Columbus Day holiday.

"This weekend’s activities, including athletic events, remain suspended as Florida Tech and the Melbourne community clean up from the storm," FIT said. "It is anticipated that power will be restored to campus by Sunday evening."

And all Seminole State College campuses are closed for all operations, classes and activities until 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

"All campuses will be open for normal operations on Monday," SSC said. "Please monitor weather reports as well as Seminole State's website or  Emergency Hotline at 407-708-2290 for updated emergency information."
