The 2016 hurricane season started on Wednesday and although Central Florida has already had two named storms this year, more storms could form than in the past couple of years.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration came out with its annual hurricane predictions last week and is forecasting a near to just-above-normal season. NOAA is calling for 10 to 16 named storms, four to eight hurricanes, and one to four major hurricanes.
