Teague Middle School locked down over suspicious person

Code-red lockdown later lifted

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – An Altamonte Springs middle school was locked down Monday because of a suspicious person in the area, officials said.

Teague Middle School, on McNeil Road, was placed on a code-red lockdown around 2:30 p.m.

"Teague Middle School was alerted to a suspicious person in the neighborhood," the school posted on Facebook. "Teague immediately went on a code red ... All students are safe and law enforcement is investigating."

The lockdown was later lifted.

"Everything is ALL CLEAR!" the school posted. "We apologize for any inconvenience, but please know your child's safety and security is of utmost importance. Today's incident was done out of an abundance of caution. Thank you!"
