ORLANDO, Fla. – Have a case of the winter blues? I might’ve just found your cure!

Mamma Mia!,” now on tour at the Dr. Phillips Center, is a fun, upbeat jukebox musical that’ll have you humming along to hit songs from ABBA all night long.

As the story goes, 20-year-old Sophie Sheridan is about to get married on a Greek island. There’s only one problem: She doesn’t know who her father is and wants to find out so he can walk her down the aisle. After reading her mother’s diary from 1979, Sophia determines three different men could potentially be her father... so she invites all of them to her wedding, hoping she’ll just “know” who he is upon meeting them.

Each of these paternal possibilities is unique and endearing and provides the audience with plenty of humor.

Now for the second problem: Sophie doesn’t tell her mother, Donna Sheridan, that she invited her ex-lovers... hoping the men’s arrival will just be a big surprise.

The good news: Donna’s longtime BFFs, who were all once members of the singing trio “Donna and the Dynamos,” also arrive on the island ready to support their friend during her daughter’s upcoming wedding.

This talented threesome kept the audience dancing in their seats and laughing out loud for much of the night. You could feel the chemistry between Donna, played by Christine Sherrill, and her long time friends Rosie, performed by Carly Sakolove, and Tanya, played by Jalynn Steele.

Their powerful singing, dancing and acting during “Dancing Queen” was one of the most high-energy, laugh-producing scenes I’ve witnessed in awhile.

“Oh, I loved that!” was overhead in the ladies’ room afterwards. Another person told me they had seen the movie and didn’t love that, but they were blown away by this Broadway performance and finally understood the storyline.

As people filed out of the Dr. Phillips Center into the dark and cold January night, praises and laughter still rang out.

It was entertaining. It was intriguing. It was downright fun. “Mamma Mia!” will be performed at the Dr. Phillips Center through Jan. 26

Pro tip: Be sure to stick around for the surprise encore performance after the curtain call for a few songs that will leave you smiling, singing and dancing.
