ORLANDO, Fla. – Gasoline prices have held steady over the past week even as the price of oil has climbed above $80. And it could stay that way — for now.

“For now, gasoline prices may see little movement ahead of July 4,” GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan said in a statement Monday.

That’s good news for drivers as the national average for a gallon of gas has fallen by around 15 cents since May, according to AAA data.

A larger supply of oil and tame demand have kept prices stable.

But higher oil prices indicate that markets may believe demand for gas could pick up and supplies could dwindle in the coming months with summer travel.

Stacker compiled statistics on gas prices in Orlando metro area using data from AAA. Gas prices are current as of June 24.
