Hey insiders! Meteorologist Troy Bridges here.

The strongest cold front of the season is on the way. This isn’t the first front to bring a little bit of a cool down, but it is definitely the one that will bring the biggest changes so far.

Often times as we head into Halloween there are lots of questions about whether it will rain or whether it will be too hot for the kids to wear their heavy costumes.

The good news is, this year we have no question that it will be a perfect Halloween weekend. The problem is, we have to deal with strong to severe storms ahead of that beautiful weather. As the front moves through Central Florida today and brings heavy rain, strong wind and even the threat of tornadoes, remember to be weather aware.

Just hold out! Things are going to look great this weekend just in time of Halloween!

Morning lows will be in the 50s with some areas dropping into the 40s for the weekend. Afternoon highs this weekend will only be in the low 70s.

That is perfect trick-or-treating weather as we will have low humidity, not much heat and no rain. Here is a look at the weekend forecast.

🌀A Frankenstein storm for Halloween?🎃

The tropics are still looking good with no threats to Florida. Meteorologist Jonathan Kegges here to talk tropics! There is a chance, however, for a little somethin’ somethin’ to develop off the coast of New England as a powerful Nor’easter that has been impacting them moves over the Gulf Stream. This storm may take on some tropical characteristics and be partly tropical, partly non-tropical, kind of pieced together like Frankenstein.

We’re also looking ahead to November after a VERY quiet (thankfully) October in the Atlantic. Here’s the latest on the Atlantic hurricane season in this week’s tropic tracker.

🦋Monarch butterfly arrives in Mexico for Dia de los Muertos 💀🌹

Did you know the monarch butterfly migration has a symbolic meaning for the Dia de los Muertos celebration in Michoacan, Mexico? Hey there, Insiders it’s Meteorologist Samara Cokinos here with you gearing up for all things Halloween!

(wkmg)

I recently went to McAllen, Texas for my son’s wedding and snapped the picture above in the airport of the butterfly display. While living in the Rio Grande Valley, I got to see the butterfly migration twice a year and let me tell you, it’s incredibly stunning. Click here to read more about the migration and how it plays into Dia de los Muertos celebrations in Mexico.

This week on Forecasting Change we look at COP26. Chief meteorologist Tom Sorrells with you.

Sounds like a law enforcement group, doesn’t it? But it is a huge climate conference. The name COP26 stands for the 26th annual Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. It is so much simpler to label it “COP26.”
