🔥 The blazing heat returns 🥵

Pinpoint Weather Insider

Summer arrives, rain increases for the weekend and it gets hot! 🌞☔🥵🌡

“Isn’t it ironic ... don’t you think?”

Hey Insiders! Meteorologist Troy Bridges here.

Do you remember that song? Most of the things mentioned in it weren’t ACTUALLY ironic (But that’s a story for another day. Lol).

You’re probably wondering why I’m mentioning an old ‘90s song here. Well, it was pretty ironic on the first day of summer to have temperatures BELOW the average with NO rain.

Usually afternoon thunderstorms and hot temperatures DEFINE our summers here in Central Florida. So, it was a little ironic “don’t ya think,” when we had the opposite kind of weather on the first day of summer?

Don’t get used to any “cooler” temperatures or low rain chances. Temperatures are certainly hot today! Daytona Beach hit 100 for the first time since 1999.

🪐My Very Observant Mother Just Bought Us Nine Pizzas🍕

I’m not crazy! But I could go for some pizza! Meteorologist Jonathan Kegges with you. Remember that saying from elementary school to remember the order of the planets? Anyway, part of that will come in handy tomorrow as we reach peak planetary alignment in our pre-dawn sky. Say that five times fast. For the better part of this month, the five naked eye planets have been lined up in order before sunrise.

Tomorrow will be peak viewing for the rare, in-order alignment. Click here for more on when and where to look! Happy viewing.

On the tropical front, the NHC has highlighted the first wave in nearly three weeks with a small chance for development. If it does develop it will be pretty rare for a wave from Africa to develop in June or early July.

If you want to stay up-to-date on everything Tropics, I would love if you sign up for my Tropics Watch Newsletter. One was delivered this morning to update you on this little wave. Anytime there is something going, you will be the first to know. You can also subscribe to the News 6 YouTube channel to receive the Tropics Watch update every Sunday.
