Obama campaign opens Fla. headquarters

President Obama's campaign opens new office in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. – OFA-Florida moved into the new state headquarters in Tampa on Tuesday as President Barack Obama's campaign continues to expand its grassroots efforts and empower volunteers to organize in their communities, .

The new headquarters is located in Tampa's Ybor City. The previous headquarters was blocks away on N 14th Street which will now serve as a base for volunteer activities and voter outreach efforts in the  Tampa area.

"Since the 2008 election cycle, our volunteers have been on the ground working to rally Floridians in support of President Obama. Now, as we open our new Florida Headquarters and expand our organizing efforts to help re-elect the President in November, we continue to build our organization all across the state in a way that reflects the vibrant diversity of Florida," said Obama for America State Director Ashley Walker.

"By empowering volunteers to organize their communities in support of President Obama, our grassroots army will ensure that all Floridians know about how the President is fighting to reclaim middle class security by ensuring that we have an economy that is built to last."

This is the 12th OFA-Florida office to be opened in the Sunshine State, including in Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Orlando, St. Petersburg, and Tampa, as well as offices in Palm Beach, Miami-Dade and Broward counties.
