LEGOLAND set to debut new water attraction

World of Chima to open Wednesday

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – LEGOLAND Florida is set to debut its new water attraction World of Chima Wednesday, but Local 6 got a sneak peek.

The ride was built to open the same year as the LEGO's of the same theme, giving children the chance to explore a real-life version of the a world they can build at home.

LEGOLAND Florida General Manager Adrian Jones says Chima is one of only a few rides in the world where kids can actually step inside a world they've built themselves.

World of Chima's story centers arond the quest for Chi, a liquid lifesource for animal tribes that rule a foreign kingdom. The animals get their strength from Chi.

On the attraction riders enter Chima to search for Chi, navigating the twisting path that lies along the way. Waterfalls, water cannons and misters line the route which drench guests from head to toe. There's even a place where riders and observers can duel back and forth using on-board water blasters.

Some of the attraction's first riders kept going back for more.

"We were having a lot of fun and almost all of us got drenched," said Alexander Rodriguez.

World of Chima opens with the park on Wednesday.
