ORLANDO, Fla. – A Lynx bus driver was injured early Thursday after she crashed into a power pole, officials said.
The accident happened around 2 a.m. on West Colonial Drive near Pine Hills Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Access Lynx bus driver was heading east on Colonial Drive when she drove off the roadway and collided with a power pole.
Troopers said they originally received the call as a hit-and-run crash but later said there was no evidence that another vehicle was involved in the accident.
Video from the scene showed extensive damage to the bus, especially to the passenger side, which was ripped open from the impact.
No passengers were aboard the bus, which is typically used to transport disabled individuals.
The driver of the bus was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
