Disney workers robbed leaving work

Orange County sheriff's deputies investigate cellphone thefts

WALT DISNEY WORLD, Fla. – Two Disney workers were robbed in a four-hour span in separate incidents as they were leaving the cast member parking lot, according to deputies.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said the first robbery occurred around 10 p.m. Thursday on Center Drive.  The second took place around 1:40 a.m. Friday on Jayme Drive.

Deputies said in each of the robberies, the employees, both men, were walking from the cast member parking lot to an apartment complex when a pair of men approached them and stole their cellphones.

In one of the robberies, the Disney employee said an assailant had a gun.  In the other incident, the victim said the thieves implied they had a gun.

No injuries were reported.

A detailed description of the four assailants was not released.

Deputies believe the same men were responsible for both robberies, but an investigation is ongoing.
