DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A mother in Volusia County made a plea to the public on Wednesday for help finding the person who killed her son 14 years ago.
The mother of Jesse Jackson, along with police discussed the cold case in Daytona Beach.
"A person could be standing next to me that took my son's life- I wouldn't know," said Jackson's mother, Mary. "I don't know who did it. Nobody's come forward. Nobody knows anything. Nobody is talking."
Jackson was shot and killed in October 2000 on Arthur Street.
According to his mother, Jesse was going to see friends the night he was killed. He grew up on the next street over, and was familiar with the neighborhood.
Chief Michael Chitwood believes Jesse knew his killer, and it could have been a friend of his,
"There were people out there, people who knew Jesse, people who knew he was there and know what happened," he said.
