WKMG Local 6 announced on Friday that Ginger Gadsden will be joining the Local 6 news team, effective June 16.
Ginger will co-anchor the 5:30 p.m. newscast with Matt Austin and solo anchor the 7 p.m. newscast. Ginger comes to Local 6 from WTSP Channel 10, the CBS affiliate in St. Petersburg, Florida where she co-anchored the morning news for seven years.

"Ginger Gadsden will be a terrific addition to our early evening newscasts," said Vice President and General Manager Skip Valet. "Ginger is a compelling storyteller and an accomplished Journalist. Like her Co-Anchors Matt Austin and Lisa Bell, Ginger is passionate about the News."
Not only will she anchor, she will also contribute to all of the Local 6 newscasts.
