Possible suspicious device prompts evacuations, road closures

Tire Kingdom evacuated over device in vehicle

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An Orange County Tire Kingdom was evacuated after a report of a suspicious device on Monday afternoon.

Orange County Fire Rescue said the call was reported at the store on the 12000 block of South Orange Blossom Trail just before 4:30 p.m.

Deputies said a worker at Tire Kingdom found what appeared to be an explosive device in a vehicle's trunk while looking for a spare tire. Bomb squad officials said it looked like an explosive device, but confirmed it wasn't.

Fire Rescue said people in the store were told to evacuate.

Orange County Sheriff's Office said Orange Blossom Trail was closed in both directions from Whisper Lakes Boulevard to Wetherbee Road for hours. It was reopened just before 7 p.m.
