Man shot at troubled apartments near UCF

Police say man suffered non-life threatening injuries

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man was taken to a hospital Thursday night after being shot at a troubled apartment complex near the University of Central Florida.

The shooting happened at The Marquee apartments on Sterling University Lane.

According to Orange County sheriff's deputies, a dispute between two men led to the shooting. The victim was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

A search is ongoing for the shooter.

No other details were immediately available.

New management changed the name of the apartments to The Marquee after a string of armed robberies occurred at the complex over a span of a few months.

The crimes sparked an increase in security, but last month, four men held several students at gunpoint while stealing electronics from their home.
