OCALA, Fla. – The Marion County Sheriff's Office released new surveillance video of an inmate who's accused of attacking a corrections officer.
Deputies said the officer was taking Michael Sonneman to a doctor's visit outside Central Florida Endoscopy and Surgical Institute in Ocala.
The officer said Sonneman grabbed for his gun with both hands, which were handcuffed. After a struggle, the officer was able to control Sonneman until backup arrived.
Investigators said Sonneman stated that he did not remember the incident and denied trying to take the gun.
