SANFORD, Fla. – The body of a man was found in a vehicle that drove into Lake Monroe on Friday night, the Sanford Police Department said.
Officers responded to East 2nd Street and Elliott Avenue around 9:43 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a person 40-50 yards off shore.
Police and Fire departments recovered the body and the man was found dead at the scene.
The man's identity is not known at this time and there is no indication of foul play, officials said.
Officials continue to investigate the incident.
