Man accused of taking upskirt photo of woman in Walmart near Oviedo bonds out of jail

James Kuethe arrested on charges of video voyeurism

OVIEDO, Fla. – A propane gas delivery driver who was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of taking a photo up a woman’s skirt inside a Walmart near Oviedo posted bond overnight and walked out of the Seminole County jail this morning, deputies said.

James Michael Kuethe, 53, arrived at the Walmart at 5511 Deep Lake Road to make a delivery for Blue Rhino, a propane gas company, according to the Seminole County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said Kuethe had been in the store for about 30 minutes when he followed a woman into an empty aisle. Deputies said Kuethe squatted down and was acting nervous when he reached across the aisle between the legs of the woman and took photos.

The woman asked Kuethe what he was doing and he left the store, deputies said. Kuethe did not make his scheduled delivery, deputies said.

Information about Kuethe from Blue Rhino said he was at the Lowe's in Oviedo where deputies arrested him.

Kuethe is charged with video voyeurism. He was booked into the Seminole County Jail and ordered held on a $3,000 bond.

Shoppers said they were disturbed to find out what happened in their neighborhood Walmart.

"That's really creepy. I would be really upset if someone did that to me," one woman said.

"I think with cameras and everything, it's more likely for these people to get caught because it's really disturbing and it violates someone's rights," customer Vernon O'Neil said.

Kuethe had his first appearance in court Wednesday afternoon. His family was there and did not want to speak with News 6 but they said everyone has loved ones and people shouldn't throw stones.

A judge has ordered Kuethe to stay away from the store and not have any contact with the victim.

News 6 reached out to Kuethe's employer for comment on his arrest, but has not heard back.
