MOUNT DORA, Fla. – Deputies have identified a man whose body was found in a Mount Dora driveway Friday evening as 64-year-old Louis Massa, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said.
"I'm nervous and I'm scared. I live here and we're close. This is, like, it could have been us," one neighbor said.
Deputies said around 1 p.m. Friday they went to check on the person who lives at a home on Terrell Road, near the Orange-Lake County border.
They found Massa's body lying in the driveway.
"My girlfriend got a call from a relative saying that they found a body on Terrell and I was, like, 'Really?'" said a woman who used to live on the street.
Investigators told News 6 that the scene of the crime suggest a confrontation and trauma to the victim.
"When I see him, he's in his yard working and I'm normally passing by. He never bothered anybody and, to me, it's really sad that somebody would violate him that way," a neighbor added.
"It's kind of like a good place to raise your kids. Everybody knows everybody. To have this happen, it shakes you, really," another woman said.
Anyone who has any information is asked to call Crimeline.
