ORLANDO, Fla. – A lockdown was lifted at Olympia High School in Orlando after a bomb threat was called in Thursday afternoon, school officials said.

The school was placed on "lockout" after officials received a bomb threat on Thursday, according to a message sent to parents from the principal.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said the bomb threat was received via a landline.

A lockout means no one is allowed to enter the campus until further notice. Buildings on campus have also been evacuated and students were taken to the football field area while deputies searched the school, deputies said.

"All students and staff are safe. Local law enforcement is working closely with district police," Principal Guy Swenson said in an automated message sent to parents around noon.
